Does Progene Work?

After a thorough review of the ingredients and potency of Progene we believe that the product is mildly effective at best and is not nearly as powerful as the company advertises.
The active ingredient in Progene is L-Arginine HCI. Each dose contains 1000mg of this ingredient which has been shown in clinical trials to increase the blood flow to the penis thus producing an erection. However, in these trials, the dosage was much higher than that offered in Progene.
Progene also includes Long Jack, a testosterone booster and Eleuthero Root, a stamina booster, but the dosage of these are very low and would probably not produce the manufacturers advertised results.
The product also contains guarana. A naturally occurring caffeine found in many energy beverages. Progene uses this as a minor stimulant to make the user believe they are experiencing the effects of the pill immediately. In fact, too much caffeine can be harmful to producing a healthy erection.
Side Effects
Progene uses guarana, which is natural caffeine and those who are sensitive to caffeine may experience ‘the jitters’ and other side effects connected with caffeine. It’s always a good idea to speak to your doctor before taking any dietary supplement. Especially if you are on any prescription medications or have a history of health problems such as high blood pressure.
Customer Reviews
After doing thorough research we discovered that the company partakes in an ‘auto shipping’ program. They do this through a ‘free trial.”
When you sign up for this trial you‘re also signed up for a monthly plan (called the Progene challenge) without your knowledge. After the 12-day ‘trial’ a customer is shipped a refill of the product and charged $100. As soon as a customer notices they had $100 taken off their credit card and not $4 they can no longer return the product. This is a shady business practice, a scam and is illegal in many countries.
Here is a customer’s experience with this program:
“My husband paid $4.95 shipping for 10 day supply. Recieved product on 9/22/2010. Called to cancle order on the 30th. Order for $99.90 had been shipped that day. Said that I couldn’t refuse order. That it would just come back to me. Said that there was no way to get a refund on the money because it was a trial. Not a straight out purchase. So as of now . Looks like we are out the $99.90. Be SURE to cancle your order from then on. They will reship and bill you again in the next 60 days. Reacurring charges. BE SURE TO READ ALL FINE PRINT. Thats where they get you.”
There are also a lot of comments on the customer service of the company. That they take a long time to return calls and sometimes flat out ignore people. These issues combined have given Progene an “F” rating by the Better Business Bureau.
Is it a scam?
After a thorough review of the product and research involving the ingredients and customer comments we can’t recommend Progene.
The low BBB rating, the mildly effective ingredients and all the other issues mentioned in this review tells us that the company does not engage in ethical business practices and you’re better off looking elsewhere.
