Scitex Corporation Ltd. was a transnational company based in Israel that was founded by Efaim Arazi in the late 1960s.   The company earned its reputation as a leader in Israeli industry for specializing in the creation of systems, products and equipment for the graphic design, publishing and printing markets.  Scitex Corporation Ltd. consisted of three companies under its umbrella: Scitex Arts Group, its main core, sold to Creo Products in 2000, Scitex Digital Printing, sold in 2004 to Eastman Kodak Company, and Scitex Vision, which was sold to Hewlett-Packard (HP) in 2005.

Scitex Digital Printing focused its expertise in developing high speed, computer-driven, variable-data inkjet printers, while Scitex Vision focused its efforts in producing equipment for wide format printing on both paper and specialty materials. 

Scitex Corporation also held interests in many other corporations which were known for developing ink jet, scanning, wide format printing and digital video solutions.   Scitex interests include the following companies:

  • Aprion Digital Ltd., based in Netanya, Israel, specialized in the development of drop-on-demand inkjet technologies and products.
  • Creo Products Inc. (now Creo Inc.), a Canadian corporation, based in Burnaby, British Columbia, a developer, manufacturer and distributor of solutions for the graphics arts industry.
  •  Jemtex Ink Jet Printing Ltd., based in Lod, Israel, a developer and manufacturer of inkjet digital printheads and engines for the large industrial printing market.
  • Objet Geometries Ltd., based in Rehovot, Israel, a creator of three dimensional inkjet modeling applications.
  • RealTimeImage, or RTI, based in San Bruno, California and Yehuda, Israel, a developer of Internet-based imaging products and services for the graphic arts and medical communities.
  • XMPie, based in Netanya, Israel, a developer of innovative software solutions for publishing.

 Scitex Corporation was a publicly traded company on NASDAQ under the symbol SCIX.
